For Faculty

Recommend a Student

We rely on our faculty and staff to let us know about exceptional students who should consider competitive funding opportunities. Some students may be unaware of the many external opportunities available or may not see themselves as competitive applicants.

You can bring specific outstanding students to our attention. You may recommend students for a specific award, or we can work with them to find opportunities appropriate for their interests and talents.

Why should students apply for competitive scholarships, fellowships, and grants?

Beyond the obvious reason of obtaining funding for experiences, students can use the process of applying for a scholarship as a learning tool. The application process can help a student improve writing and interviewing skills, identify strengths and weaknesses, learn how to follow directions, develop and articulate goals and purpose, and learn how to cope with disappointment.
