Computer Science
Accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, UVA Wise’s computer science program allows students to gain experience while working through a plethora of paid internships. It offers exceptional academics and out-of-class experiences in not only computer science but in cybersecurity. And, many students studying computer science at UVA Wise participate in the Lovelace Society, which honors the first programmer, Ada Lovelace, and advances the study of computer science and related areas of study.
Students in this program have completed paid internships at well-known companies and start ups thanks to the Wise Works program, which provides funding so that employers and the College cost share the wages of an internship. Companies who have hosted UVA Wise computer science or software engineering interns include Atomicorp, Northrop Grumman, CGI, Booz Allen, and the Virginia Department of Energy.
Graduates of the computer science, software engineering, management information systems, and mathematics programs work as systems managers, software developers, business analysts and in other technology-based roles for leading companies. They are also admitted to prestigious graduate schools.

Students seeking a Bachelor of Science Degree who are majoring in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Software Engineering may complete coursework to achieve an additional Concentration in Cybersecurity.
