First-generation college students represent a third of all college students nationwide and more than 50% of students enrolled at UVA Wise.
A first-generation college student is a student whose parent/guardian has not earned a four-year college degree.
UVA Wise supports first generation students on their journeys to a college a degree by providing a variety of resources to promote awareness, foster academic success, and celebrate achievement.
