ROTC Living Learning Community
The UVA Wise Army ROTC program offers the tools, training, and experience necessary to graduate as a commissioned Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. The UVA Wise ROTC Living Learning Community presents an additional opportunity for cadets to learn, live and reflect together on their ROTC experience.
ROTC Events
The Grizzly: Students from the LLC partnered with the Big Stone Gap Kiwanis Club to host The Grizzly, a fundraising event where participants complete a 3-mile obstacle race through the mud, which ultimately ends in an ice-cold plunge.
Army Ten Miler: A 10-mile race with that helps build esprit de corps, support fitness goals and enhance community relations. Proceeds benefit soldier moral, welfare, and recreation programs.
Big Glades Trick-or-Treat: Cadets joined local businesses, churches, and civic organizations in handing out candy to kids in Wise’s downtown park.
Wise Christmas Parade: Participating in the annual holiday parade alongside churches and local organizations brought festive spirit to the region during this opportunity to connect with the local community.
