The Talking Appalachian Podcast
Talking Appalachian is a podcast about the Appalachian Mountain region's voiceplace (its words and accents) and other aspects of its culture, such as literature, lore, and locale. Hosted by Dr. Amy Clark, an applied linguist and co-founding Director of the Center for Appalachian Studies at the University of Virginia's College at Wise. Her writing on Appalachia has appeared in the New York Times, Oxford American Magazine, Salon.com, on NPR, and Harvard University Press blog.

The Appalachian Writing Project

Dr. Clark is Founding Director of the AWP, whose mission is to provide professional development opportunities to central Appalachian teachers K-college in the areas of communication studies (writing, speaking, media), and Young Writers Programs.
