CPT Juan M. Colon was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He entered the U.S Army reserve on October 27, 2008. He is a Graduate of the Arecibo, Catholic University and Arecibo Inter American University, ROTC program where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps, in 2012.
CPT Colon holds a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Science, with a Major in Criminal Justice & Minor in Accounting from the Arecibo, Puerto Rico Catholic University and an Associate Degree in Computer Management from Arecibo, Puerto Rico ICPR College.
His military education includes the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leaders Course, Mortuary Affairs Course (4V) and Multifunctional Logistic Captains Career Course.
CPT Colon has served in a variety of assignments ranging from platoon Leader to Command level. His initial assignments as a Quartermaster were Platoon Leader and Commander 311th QM Mortuary Affairs Company, 1st MSC at Fort Buchannan, Puerto Rico, Commander at Charlie Company, 35th ESB BN, 1st MSC at Puerto Nuevo Reserve Station, Puerto Rico, Commander at 246th QM Mortuary Affairs Company, 1st MSC at Mayaguez Reserve Center, Puerto Rico, Platoon Leader, Supply & Service Officer & Accountable Officer at SSA, Alpha Company, 703rd BSB, 2nd ABCT, 3 Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia, BCT Commander at Delta Company, 4-39th IN BN USATC & FT Jackson and Chief of Current Operations at USATC & FJ at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
CPT Colon awards include the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Metal and the Army Achievement Medal.
CPT Colon is married to Johanna Roman, and they both have five children, Aleisha, Justyn, Suanet, Jeidren and the youngest Jabnel.
