John T. Cull earned his PhD from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1984. His research interests include emblematics, the staging of the Spanish Golden Age comediaand Cervantes. At UVA Wise he teaches a wide range of courses, from elementary Spanish to advanced seminars in Spanish Medieval and Golden Age Literature. His free time is filled with walks with Kahlo, his puppy, playing scrabble with friends on Facebook and enjoying a good microbrew beer.
