Kelly Sorah currently serves as Music Teacher and Choral Director at Union Middle and High Schools in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Prior to her thirteen years in the choral department, she spent two years teaching instrumental music at Coeburn Middle and High Schools in Coeburn, Virginia. Mrs. Sorah also takes pride in her position as Adjunct Professor of Trombone and Low Brass at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, where she has been teaching and performing for fourteen years. In addition to her years of service in education, Mrs. Sorah enjoys performing on a variety of venues across southwest Virginia, east Tennessee, and southeast Kentucky. Mrs. Sorah holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Illinois State University, and a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Florida State University. She lives in Wise, Virginia with her husband, Donnie, twelve-year-old son, Brennan, and dog, Roamer.
