Research Interests

I am interested in research challenges related to the current problems of environmental significance. My research interests focused on synthesis of novel main-group and early transition metal (vanadium) complexes for the small-molecule activation, catalytic hydrogenation and hydroboration of unsaturated organic compounds, and catalytic deoxygenation/deoxydehydration of alcohols, polyols, sugars, and biomass derivatives.

I. Synthesis of novel organo-vanadium/vanadium-Oxo compounds mimicking the trispentafluorophenyl borane, B(C6F5)3 for small-molecule (H2, CO2, and CO) activation.

II. Catalytic hydroboration of carbon dioxide (CO2) using air and moisture stable boron and vanadium-complexes.

III. Synthesis of vanadium-oxo complexes for the deoxygenation (DO)/deoxydehydration (DODH) of alcohols, polyols, sugars, and biomass derivatives.
