Play woodwind, brass, percussion instruments or enjoy twirling a flag? UVA Wise is seeking new members for its Marching Highland Cavaliers band.
UVA Wise students can learn more and get involved by attending the Marching Cavs annual camp. Student move-in is on Sunday, August 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. The camp runs August 12 through August 16 at the Center for the Arts.
Mountain Empire Community College students are also encouraged and welcome to join, said UVA Wise Bands Director Rick Galyean.
“Being a member of the Marching Cavs is a wonderful way to improve your musical skills, meet new friends and get involved on campus,” said Galyean. “Best of all, you get a first row seat to the exciting fall football season while galvanizing school spirit and cheering on our Highland Cavalier football team—Go Cavs Go.”
UVA Wise-led instructors work with the students to help them improve their playing skills as Marching Cavs band members.
