On Friday, September 17, UVA Wise hosted a Constitution Day event to celebrate the signing of one of the most influential documents in American history, the U.S. Constitution.

In fall 2022, UVA Wise will begin offering another educational program to advance the health care workforce of Southwest Virginia. Public health in the region will take another step forward as UVA Wise hosts UVA's Family Nurse Practitioner program.

U.S. News & World Report released its 2022 rankings, which highlight UVA Wise as both a top public liberal arts college and as one of the top ten colleges in the nation for promoting social mobility for its students.

Thanks to funding from a UVA program called “3CAVS,” music professors Hannah and Peter Ryan are offering local elementary, middle and high school students the opportunity to take private music lessons after school through the Appalachian Music Project.

A graduate school friend asked UVA Wise Professor Matthew Harvey to work with him on a colorful book—think “The Hungry Caterpillar”— about unsolved math problems. Harvey considered it and decided to give it a try.

It’s been in the works for many years, but the UVA Wise Department of Nursing will soon have a new facility to meet the needs of the growing program.
