Competitive awards, grants, scholarships, and fellowships are sources of funding ($$$) to pay for the following types of experiences:

• Research
• Internships
• Study abroad
• Graduate school
• Cultural exchange
• Self-designed projects
• Leadership development
• Foreign language learning
• Civic or community engagement
• Employment with the federal government
• Teaching assistantships in other countries

Most of these scholarships will NOT pay for your UVA Wise tuition. Many of these scholarships are for U.S. citizens, although there are a few exceptions.
